Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 29, 2026

Now Showing ("the App") is a personal streaming concierge that helps you track TV shows and movies, remember where you are in each show, and discover what to watch next. Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data we collect, how it is used, who processes it, and your rights.

Accounts

Some features (syncing across your devices and the web, social features, lists, and direct messages) require an account. You can create one using Sign in with Apple. When you do, we receive and store a user identifier and, if you choose to share it, your name and email address (which may be Apple's private-relay address). Much of the App can be used without an account; that data stays on your device until you sign in.

Data We Collect

When you use the App (and, for synced data, when you are signed in) we collect and store:

How Your Data Is Stored & Synced

The App keeps a copy of your data on your device for fast, offline use, and—when you are signed in—stores it on our backend provider Supabase so it can sync across your devices and the Now Showing website. Signing in on another device or on the web shows you the same data.

Data We Do NOT Do

Third-Party Services (Processors)

Metadata services (TMDB, TVMaze) receive search queries and show IDs but do not receive your account identity.

Your Rights & Choices

Data Retention

We retain your account data until you delete your account. Aggregate, non-identifying analytics may be retained to understand product trends.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
